Jan 29- Feb 1, Mon-Thurs {A} Ski at Camp DuNord. Enjoy two full days of skiing/snowshoeing at Camp DuNord. Three cabins (Sunshine, Twilight and White Pine) have been reserved. Arrive after 4 PM on Monday and depart by 11AM on Thursday. Location: 3606 N Arm Rd, Ely, MN 55731. Ski trails are single track classic only through lovely forests including the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, plus a loop in the camp. There are also snowshoe trails and if ice conditions are safe, make your own ski or snowshoe tracks on Burnside Lake.
The cabins are modern with in-floor heat and a central vacuum system. Bath with walk-in shower. Cabins have sleeping space for 7 people: A Queen bedroom for couples, 2 single beds in another bedroom on the first floor, and 3 single beds with night stands, tables and coat hooks in the second floor loft. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, stovetop/oven and microwave, plates, cups, pots/pans etc. Dining room for 7 and a lounge area with a gas fired stove/fireplace. We also have access to a remodeled sauna with a hole in the ice "pool" nearby.
Meals: Prepare your own breakfasts Tuesday to Thursday mornings. Bring your own trail lunches for Tuesday and Wednesday.
For dinners each cabin will prepare their own dinners on Tuesday and Wednesday via an organized potluck among cabin-mates.
Trip leader will email out the trip roster with contact information of each participant and proposed cabin assignments to allow each cabin to make their own dining arrangements. Consequently the dinner costs will be shared equally among cabin residents. Bring your own alcoholic beverages and snacks to share.
