May 12, Wed {WW} Twin Cities Bike Ride. REVISED DETAILS Meet 10:45 AM IN HIGH BRIDGE DOG PARK PARKING LOT, which is located west of the plaza at Shepard Rd and Eagle Parkway. To access the dog park, follow signs going south on Randolph St from its intersection with Shepard Road. This intersection is approximately one and a half miles west of the intersection of Shepard Rd and Eagle Parkway. Please be prepared to begin ride at 11:00 AM.
The ride is expected to be approximately 2.5 hours in duration and 15 miles in length with a leisurely pace (average speed about 10 mph). The route will start out west on Shepard Rd along the north side of the Mississippi River to Highway 5 (West 7th St), then along East River Rd to Summit Ave, return east along Summit Ave to near the Cathedral and Minnesota History Center, from where side streets and 35E overpass will be used to get back to the plaza and dog park.
Post ride lunch option available at City House, which is a restored grain elevator that has been converted to a seasonal open-air food and beverage establishment. It is located near the plaza on the bike trail, which we will go by at the end of the ride. Food offerings include a Cubano, veggie burgers, and street tacos. Beverages include local craft beer, cider, and wine on tap. Bike racks available.
