March 9, Tues - North Star Zoom Meeting. 7:00 p.m. Rudi Hargesheimer’s book, “The Superior Hiking Trail Story”, was published last spring. Rudi will highlight some aspects of the book, which is now a must for every Minnesota trail enthusiast. The book tells the story of how the trail came to be, starting from nothing in 1986 and growing to 310 miles long today. Many success stories plus a few big failure tales that most hikers have no idea happened are included. Over 400 color photos and many “Sentiment from the Heart” hiker quotations enhance the text. Of course, this presentation will only share a taste of the book and the trail experience. But you will be ready to hit the trail with a new understanding of why Backpacker Magazine has rated it the “Second best long trail in the nation."
