Our regular meeting at 6:30pm-8:30pm topic and speaker:
Our speaker, Lee Frelich, PhD is Director of University of Minnesota Center for Forest Ecology. Climate change has profound effects on forest ecology--the types of trees, underbrush, wetlands, wildlife. All this affects the habitat through which we enjoy cross-country skiing. Our speaker has authored over 150 publications and is listed in the top 1% of all scientists in the area of science, environment and ecology. He has advised government agencies and mentored a generation of students. His research has been featured 550 times in news media. We are delighted to have Dr. Frelich share his insights on how our forests, and our cross-country skiing experiences, are affected by climate change.
The meeting will be in-person at the Danish American Center and broadcast via Zoom for remote participation.
