Ride East To Stillwater And The New St. Croix River Loop Trail

Aug 14, Wed {WW} Ride East to Stillwater and the New St. Croix River Loop Trail. Meet at the Gateway Trail parking lot in North St. Paul, just south of Hwy 36 and next to the giant wind turbine (you can’t miss it), at 9:15 a.m. and begin riding at 9:30. Directions: Heading east on Highway 36, take the McKnight Rd exit and continue straight across McKnight to North St. Paul Drive; turn right on Second St, then left into the parking lot. If coming west on 36, exit to McKnight Rd, turn left (south) to go beneath the highway, then take a left at the first stoplight (North St. Paul Drive) and follow the directions above. This ride of about 28 miles will be entirely on trails. We’ll take the Gateway and Brown’s Creek Trails into Stillwater, ride the brand new 4.7-mile Loop Trail across the St. Croix River to Houlton and back into Stillwater, then return via the same trails to the parking lot. Rest stop in Stillwater with plenty of snack/refreshment options. Steady rain in the morning will cancel the ride. FFI: Mel Peterson, 651-776-4330 or 612-867-2192 (cell phone day of ride).
